Geelong.

I’ve got no idea what people think of when they hear of the Pivot City.

Ford?

Ford closing down?

That Xmas Tree in the middle of the bay put there by that crazy mayor they voted for?

Cheeky Chicken?

Hell, some people might even go straight to amazing fact that commercial ice production was invented right there on the banks of the Barwon River.

I’ve got no idea.

I’m not other people.

Me?

I think music.

To be specific: fucking great music.

Magic Dirt, Chrissy Amphlett, Warped, Bored, Jeff Lang, King Gizzard…

Geelong is a town, that pound for pound, produces some of the very best music in Australia.

In recent history the universal centre of Geelong music has been based around the incredible Anti-Fade Records.

Headed by Billy Gardner, Anti-Fade has been giving the world releases from bands such as the Frowning Clouds, ORB, the Living Eyes, Wet Blankets, the Kremlings to more recent additions such as the amazing Bananagun & local heavyweights Civic.

It’s a record label that invests its time into the best.
